Department of Physics and Astronomy Scholarships
We are happy to announce that Physics & Astronomy Departmental Scholarship Funds are available for students studying in the fields of physics and astrophysics.
Scholarship Applications for the 2026-27 academic year are being accepted through
Scholarship Universe
Deadline: May 1, 2026
Applications for scholarships are typically accepted in the spring of each year, and awards are announced in May or June for the upcoming academic year.
All students (including incoming Freshmen and transfer students) with a major or secondary major in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics are invited to apply, including University Scholars, Science Research Fellows, and Baylor Business Fellows with a concentration in one of these areas.
The following scholarships are offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy for undergraduate students:
- Greg and Dana Benesh Endowed Scholarship in Physics (Physics & Astronomy)
- Randy and Cathey Hall Endowed Scholarship Fund in Mathematics and Physics (Mathematics / Physics & Astronomy)
- Shim C. Park & Theresa Park Memorial Physics Scholarship Fund (Physics & Astronomy)
- Herbert D. Schwetman Physics Scholarship Fund (Physics & Astronomy)
- Roy W. Stiegler, Jr., Endowed Scholarship Fund (Physics & Astronomy)
- Gordon K. Teal Memorial Scholarship (Physics & Astronomy)
- Physics Department Scholarship - Endowed Excellence Fund (Physics & Astronomy)
Awards typically range from $500 to $2,500.
